Fathers and Sons

Loss

Kristen Nutile

Filmmaker Kristen Nutile uses this documentary as a personal catharsis through which she meditates, reflectively, on the passing of her father from 17 years earlier. The picture then springboards from those personal events into deeper and more universalized meditations on death and grief. To create the work, Nutile intercuts Super 8 home movies, still photos, audio extracts, newly conducted interviews and newly-shot film footage.
