Recessionize! For Fun and Profit!

Jamie Kastner
Screening time
28.02. / Tuesday, 21:00 - 23:00 Theatre 3
B black-comic look at the worldwide recession and how people worldwide are dealing with it.

Jamie Kastner ('A Kike Like Me') sets off on a black-comic road trip through California, Europe and Dubai meeting those who manage to turn the world economic crisis into opportunity. The quirky cast, at times funny and absurd and at times heartrending; range from kids at 'Camp Millionaire', to Berlin prostitutes offering eco-discounts, to the owners of a French hotel promising a 'hamster-like' experience. The present-day journey is interwoven with the ironic tales of various financial solutions people resorted to during the 1930's Great Depression. A bittersweet tale, the film touches on the universal ironies of modern market-guided existence.
