Croatian Musical Documentaries

This engaged musical documentary follows the making of the album by composer and pianist Matej Meštrović and the Samobor-based ensemble Sudar Percussion at the Zagorje castle Sv. Križ Začretje. While they are making the album and creating echo in the ‘wired’ castle, the pianist and the band and their playful, wondrous music create an appropriate soundtrack to the strange story of the lavish castle’s owner, who lives in it like a ‘beggar’. It is a story about Matej Meštrović, but also of the lack of social care, absurdities and neglect of cultural heritage, about too expensive and unnecessary personal judgments and decisions. Arsen Oremović is a renowned film critic and director of the praised and award-winning film Married to the Swiss Franc.
