Beautifully lensed over six years, this time-sweeping documentary is both a chronicle and a thoughtful meditation driven by the stories of anguished victims during Spain’s 40-year military dictatorship.

General Francisco Franco’s oppressive regime tolerated no dissenters, no opponents, and no free speech, until as recently as 1975. In a groundbreaking international court case, the victims of re-education camps, child abduction, torture, and extra-judicial killings have come together to break their silence and confront the perpetrators who, unbeknownst to much of the world, have enjoyed impunity for decades.
