Eight Projects at ZagrebDox Pro: Confessions

In its coming-of-age year ZagrebDox designed a concept for its Pro segment under the title Confessions. With this concept ZagrebDox Pro focuses on students and young professionals who will improve their ideas and strategies at a workshop for selected projects, mentored by Sari Volanen (Finland) and Želimir Žilnik (Serbia). In addition to working on their films in development, the participants can attend masterclasses and panels with a series of film professionals. Next to Volanen and Žilnik, Pro Confessions will include the following experienced professionals: Vanja Jambrović, Péter Kerekes, Florijan Lacko, Nenad Puhovski, Klara Petrović, Martina Petrović, Rea Rajčić, Anđela Rostuhar, Davor Rostuhar and Boris Veličan.

The selected projects for ZagrebDox Pro Confessions 2022 are:

• Far Away, Kandahar, Anita Čeko (Croatia)
• Gliding in the Universe, Ilona Szekeres (Hungary)
• Irena, Jasmina Beširević (Croatian)
• Spectrum, Barbara Pešut (Croatia)
• Talk to Me!, Ismira Mašić (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
• The Cypress They Failed to Take Down, Mina Vavan (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
• The Double Life, Isabella Friedl (Austria)

The aim of the Confession segment is to gather up-and-coming filmmakers in a different, more intimate format to exchange ideas with fellow authors and work on the development and presentation of their projects with renowned professionals in groups and individually, aiming at creating preconditions for their future international collaboration. The host and moderator of all the events is documentary director Igor Bezinović.

ZagrebDox Pro is financially supported by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Croatian Film Directors’ Guild and the City of Zagreb. The event takes place from 5 to 8 April 2022.
