About ZagrebDox Pro

ZAGREBDOX PRO is a five-day program that brings together documentary filmmakers in pursuit of excellence through analysis of their submitted projects, along with recommendations and suggestions for their further development. Additionally, the program offers case studies, group and individual discussions, masterclass lectures, special film screenings and round tables.

ZagrebDox Pro focuses on in-depth research of limited-run documentary series. From the way of thinking about ideas, building interest in the audiovisual ecosystem, possible approaches to production, all the way to distribution and promotion models.

Although until a few years ago it seemed that documentary series would sink into the routine of life on "small screens", the rapid development of streaming services as well as social networks gave these forms a new impetus. It is interesting that a whole series of new formats developed during that period, and those on social networks are particularly interesting - primarily on platforms such as YouTube and TikTok, as well as large commercial projects on all streaming platforms.  

ZagrebDox Pro participants will exchange knowledge and experience with top European, world and Croatian experts in the field of documentary production, distribution and promotion.  

ZagrebDox has established a network of cooperation with experts in an effort to provide selected projects with as many opportunities as possible to participate in other workshops, festivals and trade fairs. In cooperation with Al Jazeera Balkans television, one of the projects will be selected to participate in the Al Jazeera Documentary Industry Days in Sarajevo in September 2024.  

Participation in ZagrebDox Pro is free and is held with the financial support of the Croatian Audiovisual Center, the City of Zagreb, the Society of Croatian Film Directors and the Kultura Nova Foundation.
