The winner of the Golden Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival far back in 1966. It is a short half-hour documentary which the author dedicated to the eponymous main character, his life and his travels, a well-known explorer of polar expanses, most of all the Artic - Knud Rasmussen, who lived at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century (1879-1933). It is interesting to note that the author, also a big fan of traveling, took part in numerous expeditions to Grenland as well.
Jørgen Roos (1922-1998) a photographer and a director, one of the most important Danish documentary film makers, was the first one to be awarded with the Roos Prize (named in his honor), the award also won by the two directors Sami Saif and Phie Ambo in 2001 for their film ‘Family’, which we will also be able to see in this retrospective. This big storyteller was a big fan of stories about great Danes, like Hans Christian Andersen, Carl Nielsen, etc.
