After thrilling the world with his acclaimed portrait of Arseny Tarkovski, the director takes us to the Russian past again: In ‘Orzham’, he choreographs the costumed characters discretely fitted in the urban setting of the present-day. At that, he lavishly uses nature as an exciting setting where the past and the future meet, without a dialogue.
Viacheslav Amirkhanian likes to make both documentaries and experimental films. In his films it is often hard to define the line between the two. His films include: ‘Arseny Tarkovsky - Malutka-zhizn’ (2004), ‘In the Middle of the World’ (1990). He occasionally acts, too. His best roles are those in: ‘Man Looks at Woman, Woman Looks at Man’ (2000) ‘Koridorius’ (1994).
