Pele Forever

Anibal Massaini Neto

Based on the texts of Brazilian soccer writer Armand Nogueira, ‘Pele Forever’ is a documentary about ‘the world’s best soccer boot of the 20th century’. Less known by his real name Edson Arantes do Nascimento, Pele was born in 1940. He started learning how to dribble as early as at the age of 5. With time, he made it all the way to the top. As a result of his lifestyle, he became not only a soccer star, but also a real pop star. The making of this film took five years; 70 archives were searched, 150 statements of Pele’s friends, team-mates and family members were recorded. It shows 450 of his goals, 3,000 photos, and 1,500 press clippings!
