''The Blockade'' Awarded in Jihlava

The jury of one of the biggest and most important European documentary film events has awarded Special Mention to Igor Bezinović's film ''The Blockade'', produced by Factum and Restart.

The jury of the recently closed 16th Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, consisting of Jeremy Orlebar, Mohammadreza Farzad, Tomáš Hrubý and Ted Grouya, has awarded Special Mention to Igor Bezinović's film The Blockade.

Together with 14 other films, The Blockade was selected for Between the Seas, the competition program of documentary films from Eastern and Central Europe. Srđan Keča's film Mirage (UK, Serbia) won Best Film Award in this category and Opus Bonum Award for Best Documentary went to Japanese-US film Kuichisan by Maiko Endo. The Blockade is a depiction of the most massive, longest and politically most relevant student strike in Croatia and beyond. It was produced by Factum and Restart.

Jihlava IDFF is the biggest documentary film festival in Central and Eastern Europe. Besides by a wide variety of films and events, the festival is known by its East Silver film fair. This year, the festival took place from 23 to 28 October 2012.
