Diana Nenadić, Vjeran Zuppa and Nenad Puhovski, together with all other participants and authors who made their (often) first (and regularly multiple award-winning) documentary steps at the Imaginary Academy in Grožnjan, will remember the times when a decision “to go and film” was much more complex and expensive (both logistically and politically) than today. The Imaginary Academy, whose documentary programme was founded in 1997, allowed documenting just about anything: nature and society, architecture and agriculture, life of (ordinary and unordinary) people and life of (usable and used) things, remainders of past times and inventory of present times, intimate happiness and social unhappiness (and vice versa). This brief journey to the past will also be a celebration of all the possibilities generated by the Imaginary Academy’s heritage.
