The film follows a crowd of refugees and migrants making their way from the Schengen border to the refugee camp in Brežice.

24th October, 2015. A nice day in autumn in a nice landscape. A crowd of refugees and migrants accompanied by soldiers and police officers make their way from the Schengen border between Slovenia and Croatia towards the refugee camp in Brežice. Suddenly, the landscape starts to appear less nice than it was.

Damjan Kozole

Damjan Kozole (born 1964) is a distinguished Slovenian filmmaker whose directing credits include the 2003 critically acclaimed Spare Parts and 2009 worldwide released Slovenian Girl, among others. Nightlife is Kozole’s ninth feature, which premiered in the Competition program of Karlovy Vary IFF 2016, where it received Best Director Award. He also made feature documentaries Ulay: Project Cancer (2013) and Long Vacation (2012).
