This episode of the Czech Journal series examines the fact that military spirit is starting to pervade our society.

Attempts to reintroduce military training or compulsory military service, and in general, national preparations for the next big war, go hand in hand with the society’s fear of Russians, Muslims, or whichever ‘enemies’. This reconnaissance flight over the machine gun nest of Czech militarism turns into a grotesque, unsettling military parade. It is not only a message about how easily people allow themselves to be manipulated into a state of paranoia by the media, but also a warning that extremism could become a part of regular school curriculum.
