Đuro is a punk music fan, Croat and Catholic. Burdened by a traumatic past, Đuro cannot stand anything unrelated with his homeland, and he expresses his worldviews through public revolt and provocation. Đuro’s world is shaken when he meets Elvira, a girl of Serbian nationality. Before the Flags is a story of love and hate, of growing up and acceptance.

Sanja Bistričić

Sanja Bistričić graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture in 2013. She lives and works in Zagreb, and has been a professional photographer since 2009. In 2014, she published her first book entitled 01. She made her award-winning directorial debut Before the Flags in 2016.
