A pixelated documentary film made of of 755 photos Maja took during her mother's illness.

When Maja was 16, her mother got cancer. She and her three younger siblings did not know what would happen, but they knew their mother would lose her hair and look quite different. Maja wanted to gather the good memories. She shot 3,000 photos of her mother over a period of two years, during her mother’s illness. A pixelated documentary film is the result of 755 of these photos.

Maja Arnekleiv

Maja Arnekleiv is born in 1997 in Norway. She grew up with sheep, cows and close to animation studio in Dovre, a village in the mountains of Norway. Mum’s Hair is Maja’s debut as a film director.
