SCORE: A Film Music Documentary

Matt Schrader
Screening time
01.03. / Thursday, 17:00 - 19:00 Theatre 1
Take a peek at how composers developed some of the most iconic scores in history.

From the dun-nun of Jaws and the triumphant trumpets of Rocky, to the harrowing strings of Psycho and the slow build of Star Wars – there is an undeniable art and power to the film score that lingers long after the credits roll. For decades now, film composers have been responsible for some of the greatest music being produced. The virtuosos of our time are scoring some of the largest scale productions in Hollywood, be it Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, Trent Reznor or Alexandre Desplat – all of whom appear on screen here, discuss their craft, the intangible qualities of the form and the role it plays in elevating films into something embedded in our consciousness.
