ZagrebDox Pro Online Mentor Award  –  one-year online mentoring by Cecilia Lidin

In addition to a diploma, the winner of ZagrebDox Pro Award wins a unique opportunity to develop their project with the assistance of mentor Cecilia Lidin. Lidin has a solid experience in the development and financing of documentaries, particularly on an international scale: From 2011 to June 2015 she was employed at the Swedish Film Institute as a documentary consultant, where she helped to support films as Concerning Violence, A Thousand Bitar and Pervert Park. From 2009 to 2011, Cecilia Lidin was head of the European Documentary Network, an international network for documentary filmmakers, where she was previously assigned as a consultant. Cecilia Lidin has been artistic director of Odense International Film Festival, she promoted Nordic short films and documentaries at the Film Point and for a time worked as a consultant for the West Danish Film Fund. Cecilia Lidin currently works as a documentary film consultant at the Danish Film Institute.

HBO Europe Award  €2000 for project development

One project will be awarded the HBO Europe diploma and €2000 for project development. HBO is acknowledged across the world as a leader in premium television programming services. Viewers everywhere turn to HBO for the biggest Hollywood blockbusters, award-winning original productions and series, exclusive events and documentaries which are moving the boundaries of society. HBO Europe develops and produces its own award-winning original series and documentaries. It provides premium channels and streaming service HBO GO in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. HBO Europe continues to support project development at ZagrebDox Pro with a financial reward.

Al Jazeera Balkans Award €1000 for project development

One project will receive the Al Jazeera Balkans Award and € 1000 for project development. News channel Al Jazeera Balkans, which is a part of the global Al Jazeera Media Network, is offering a new and exciting approach in the regional media landscape through news coverage and documentary programme. In the region and Europe, Al Jazeera Balkans is distributed through main cable operators, as well as a part of “free to air” distribution on Eutelsat 16° east and is also available online worldwide. The mission of the Network is to give voice to the voiceless, tell untold stories, promote debate, and challenge established perceptions. The channel is set to organize its third Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival (AJB DOC), which screens important regional and international documentaries. Al Jazeera Balkans TV program is produced by a team of professionals from the central studio in Sarajevo, and the regional centres in Belgrade, Zagreb and Skopje. Al Jazeera Balkans also has a wide network of correspondents in the region: Podgorica, Pristina, Mostar and Banja Luka, as well as in Washington, London, Brussels, Berlin, Vienna, Moscow, Istanbul, Jerusalem and Beijing.

DAE Mentoring Pitch Award a free DAE memberships for the director and producer and mentoring sessions

One project will be awarded DAE Mentoring Pitch Award which includes a free DAE memberships for the director and producer of one project valued at 200 € for one year as well as four tailored mentoring sessions with DAE members. This prize is a talent development encouragement award. Documentary Association of Europe - DAE is a new, Pan-European association for European documentary professionals to strengthen the industry, unite the community and create sustainable support for the genre with modern approaches and an international vision.
