Edhem Fočo

Edhem Fočo was born in 1972 in Sarajevo. He studied in Sarajevo and in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In Malaysia he has gained experience in various business sectors from F&B, through Consultancy, Oil & Gas, International Trade, Information Technology and Investments, as well as media. He is credited as the initiator of Al Jazeera's entry into Balkans and has been a director of Al Jazeera Network in Sarajevo since 2010. In 2018, together with his colleagues, he has initiated AJB DOC, Al Jazeera Balkans International Documentary Film Festival, the most prominent festival of documentary films in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Olga Lucovnicova

Olga Lucovnicova (Moldova, 1991) is a Belgium based documentary filmmaker and aspiring researcher in the field of audiovisual arts. She studied cinematography at the Academy of Arts of Moldova and at DocNomads. Currently, Olga pursues her studies in film at the doctoral school at the KU Leuven University. She was awarded an FWO (The Research Foundation – Flanders) fellowship fundamental research for her personal doctoral research project on post-memory in the post-Soviet society and its research through first-person documentary film. Her filming style combines observational cinema with poetic elements, where the key factors are human emotions and feelings. Her last film My Uncle Tudor (ZagrebDox 2021, Big Stamp in regional competition) premiered in Berlinale in 2021 and was, amongst other awards, awarded the Golden Bear and the European Film Academy Award.

Sari Volanen

Sari Volanen is a commissioning editor at Yle (Finnish Broadcasting company). She works at Yle’s  Film Team producing short films mainly with Finnish independent filmmakers and producers.  She is in charge of a strand called “New Cinema” on Yle Teema channel. The main focus of New Cinema is on cinematic, surprising and original films. The films in the strand are acquired through co-productions (main producer Finnish), prebuys (international) and acquisitions.
