Vlada and Ivica are friends, their fathers are colleagues and their mothers are friends. Vlada lives in Belgrade, and Ivica lives near Zagreb. War starts. Ivica’s mothers talks to Vlada’s mother about what’s happening to them, the bombings, the burned villages and sniper frights, however Vlada’s mother doesn’t believe her. Vlada’s father later writes Ivica’s father how much he’s ashamed of everything that has been done to them, but it is in vain. He doesn’t answer. Vlada believes that they hate them because they are Serbs, and their Grandma tries to confront them by telling them the letter never really arived...Vlada makes a decision.
