Murray Nossel

After ten years of romance, Mark and Erike decide to bring another member into their loving union – a child. Choosing between adoption and surrogate parenting they decide to go with the latter. Soon after placing an ad they find Wren, a good ‘white witch’, and a married mother of a teenager called Drew. Supported by both their parents and Wren’s son, they embark on the three-year-long process. After the first few failed attempts to conceive, just when everybody starts to feel slightly disappointed and impatient, she becomes pregnant. After an agonizing homebirth Cecilia Alexis comes in the world. The movie has won many awards at various gay & lesbian festivals (Miami GLFF 2004, New York GLFF 2004, Copenhagen GLFF 2004).

Murray Nossel

Murray Nossel is a psychologist and anthropologist who teaches at Columbia University, where he is in the process of getting a PhD. His previous work includes ‘Why Can’t We Be a Family Again’, an Academy Award nominated short documentary that was has played on numerous film festivals, and ‘’A Brooklyn Tale’’, a long documentary about public national television.
