The director wants to know why beauty is so important to the French. She analyzes the relations between film industry and luxury industry – haute couture, perfumes, cosmetics – which, having become an omnipresent cliché, have established France as the epicenter of beauty and world chic. By using film segments, beauty product adds and interviews with the ‘holy trinity’ Bardot – Moreau – Deneuve and their successors Juliette Binoche, Sophie Marceau, Audrey Tautou, Chiara Mastroianni, Jane Birkin, Charlotte Gainsbourg and others, the director is breaking down the myths on French beauty in an interesting way.
