This documentary is based on the developments following the kidnapping of Patty Hearst, a rich heiress of the media magnate William Randolph Hearst. In 1974, she was kidnapped by the members of ‘Symbionic Liberation Army’, the most militant radical leftist organization who fought for the rights of the oppressed classes and black convicts. SLA had this incredible power of media presentation and the whole thing became interesting when the hitherto spoiled Patty voluntarily joined their militant ranks under the alias Tania. Thirty years later, director Stone begins a comprehensive four-year investigation the result of which is this very film.

He lives and works in New York City.
