The Liliev brothers share one surname, but that’s where the similarity ends. They don’t even share the same father. They got their name from their mother Lily, who is no longer alive. The oldest brother Alexander is a hairdresser who likes to wear make-up and compete in hairdressing contests. The middle brother Bobby has chosen to live as a monk, but he's finding it difficult to adhere to his vows. The youngest brother James is kind of macho – he might just marry his girlfriend, and he wants to be a TV star. The only person who occasionally brings them all together is their grandmother, Lily’s mother. The four visit Lily's grave. Each of them made very different choices in life but in spite of their very different convictions and lifestyles they have one thing in common: though the world is sometimes cruel to all of them they still consider life wonderful, happiness is still out of reach but is not more than a hope away.
