Young men from the Balkans leave for Austria with student visas. Instead of coming back home where the uncertain future of transitional countries awaits them, these men pay between seven and 12 thousand euro for Austrian wives, hoping they might get Austrian citizenship.

This is what the film director will do as well – he will travel to Vienna and film the entire process. He will try to establish why these people do it, he will give his own reasons, find a wife and organise a fake wedding. He will reveal to us why people have been doing it thus far, what motivated them to pay for fake wives, and why these girls agree to such a thing. Full of twisted humour and absurdity, this film bares it all, fitting in the irrationality of the new Europe where there are no more physical boundaries, but a whole lot of bureaucratic boundaries and prejudices.
