Three Berlinale Entries in ZagrebDox’s Programme

Above and Below, director Nicolas Steiner’s journey across the hidden outsider America, whose protagonists enthral us with empathy and passion, is competing for the German Film Prize, The Music of Strangers: Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble is screened at Berlinale in the Special Gala section, one of the special categories out of the seven official selections. We follow the acclaimed Silk Road international ensemble on their world tour, directed by Oscar-winning Morgan Neville. Ninnoc by Niki Padidar, a teenager film about peer pressure, is screened in Generation selection (Generation Kplus) with films intended children. Does everyone have to look the same, this is the question bothering the self-willed protagonist Ninnoc, who does not want simply to bend to the rules of the group, but also does not want to stay alone.
