As a continuation of the successful collaboration with ZagrebDox, Sony in association with AVC presents state-of-the-art equipment and fascinating results that can be attained by using Sony technology in real conditions. The presentation is intended for everyone, especially for film professionals.

In this masterclass Yann Arthus-Bertrand will give insights to his unique approach to the documentary filmmaking and discuss, accompanied by clips, specifics of his work on his recent documentary Human. He will reflect on his two-year process of collecting stories through 60 countries, from everyday experiences to accounts of the most unbelievable lives. There will also be talk about never-before-seen aerial images through which our Earth is shown at its most sublime.

The central ZagrebDox Pro event open to the public is the Pitching Forum which will present 12 selected documentary projects at different stages of development from nine countries.

In this masterclass Erik Gandini will present his views on essay documentary and examples of how to take command of storytelling, of the structure and above all, how to be the one who creates meaning in the film.

RE-ACT (Regional Audiovisual Cooperation and Training) is a transregional initiative for co-developing audiovisual projects and fostering international co-productions. Set up by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Friuli-Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund and Slovenian Film Centre in 2015, RE-ACT has two components: a co-development funding scheme for feature-length projects and short animations and a targeted training programme: RE-ACT Workshop.

This panel discussion will deal with the immediate future of creative documentary. With serious decreases in public broadcasting funding and emerging of new platforms and distribution models, this panel will draw attention to identifying, understanding, embracing and even changing of these models.

In this masterclass Nino Kirtadzé will reflect on her three films from this year's ZagrebDox retrospective programme and show visual examples from the making-of process. The audience will be able to inter-react to various topics and re-orientate the masterclass according to their interests.

A documentary project in development, Solenzara, directed by Pascal and Stephan Regoli and produced by the Chjachjarella Produzione, was presented last year at ZagrebDox Pro Pitching Forum, where it won the ZagrebDox Pro Award for Best Project, which includes one-year project mentorship with Hans Robert Eisenhauer.
