'A Little Village Show' is one of the most popular documentary films of the former Yugoslavia.

The film was shot in a village in Međimurje during a public event which featured amateur singers, the local folklore society and comedians, as well as the competition for the most beautiful girl in the village. One by one the singers took to the stage performing the most popular hits of the time, their performances rhythmically interspersed with a comedic and a folklore song and dance act. Making full use of contrast in the editing process, as well as in the opening and the closing shots, the film draws a clear line between the old and the new, the contemporary and the traditional, the village and the city.
