ZagrebDox Pro Online Mentor Award  –  one-year online mentoring by Vanja Jambrović

In addition to a diploma, the winner of ZagrebDox Pro Award wins a unique opportunity to develop their project with the assistance of mentor Vanja Jambrović. She has a lot of experience in the development and financing of documentaries, locally as well as on an international scale. Since 2009 she’s been making films with Restart as a delegate producer. Vanja’s track record includes more than 20 films of all shapes and sizes. Her films have circled the globe, having been screened in competition at IDFA, Hot Docs, Toronto IFF, Visions du Reel, Fid Marseille, Karlovy Vary IFF, Sarajevo FF and hundreds more. «Srbenka», a film that she produced, directed by Nebojša Slijepčević has been preselected for EFA Awards in the best documentary category in 2018 and won Doc Alliance Award for the best documentary in 2018. Vanja also runs the Restart Laboratory – a platform for first-time directors, as well as Restart Masterclass – a yearlong programme dedicated to connecting world-class filmmakers with Croatian audiences through a series of interactive lectures. Since 2020, Vanja teaches a course on documentary production at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb.

One project will receive the Al Jazeera Balkans Award and € 1000 for project development. News channel Al Jazeera Balkans, which is a part of the global Al Jazeera Media Network, is offering a new and exciting approach in the regional media landscape through news coverage and documentary programme. In the region and Europe, Al Jazeera Balkans is distributed through main cable operators, as well as a part of “free to air” distribution on Eutelsat 16° east and is also available online worldwide. The mission of the Network is to give voice to the voiceless, tell untold stories, promote debate, and challenge established perceptions. The channel is set to organize its fourth Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival (AJB DOC), which screens important regional and international documentaries.
