The motto of the legendary documentary filmmaker and passionate long-distance walker, German director Werner Herzog says: “The world reveals itself to those who travel on foot.” Regardless of the means of travelling, it undoubtedly requires from travel documentarians, next to a curious spirit, a skill of transposing their adventures and odysseys into the film medium. A clash with the unknown and often unexpected not only reveals a kaleidoscope of different cultures, spaces, worlds, views and lifestyles, but also conquers completely new imagination fields. In a discussion with our guests, renowned travel writers and authors of travel serials and documentaries, we will learn more about their creative, authorial and personal visions they approach this genre with.
