Igor Bezinović is a filmmaker born in Rijeka, which is now part of Croatia, but at that time belonged to the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, before that partly the Kingdom of Italy and partly the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (and before that the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes), before that the Free State of Fiume, before that the Italian Regency of Carnaro, before that Austria-Hungary… His films include The Blockade (Oktavijan prize for best Croatian documentary in 2012), Veruda (Oktavijan prize for best Croatian documentary in 2015) and A Brief Excursion (Big Golden Arena prize for best Croatian feature in 2017), along with many shorts of all shapes and sizes. His work has been shown internationally at events including IFF Rotterdam, DOK Leipzig, IDFF Jihlava, CPH:DOX, Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean, Venice Biennale of Architecture (with Hrvoslava Brkušić for Pulska grupa), Museum of the Moving Image and the Guanajuato IFF. He graduated in film directing at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb and in Philosophy, Sociology and Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. He is a member of The Croatian Film Directors’ Guild and the judo club Black Belt.
Zdenka Gold was born in 1975 in Zagreb. She graduated in Italian language and literature, Indology and Portuguese Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb. She took part in many specialised film workshops, including EURODOC 2011, EAVE 2013, ACE 2015, PRODUCTION VALUE 2016.
After years of working in the production of many theatre and film festivals and film productions, Zdenka Gold founded the Spiritus moves production company in 2006. The company specialises in the production of independent films (fiction and documentary), and deals with the organisation of cultural and educational events, co-productions and service productions. Zdenka continues to work with other production companies as an executive producer.
Spiritus Movens Production films were screened and awarded at major A-list festivals including the official competition of the Cannes festival (Sieranevada, Cristi Puiu), the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs (Murina, Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović, awarded the Caméra d'Or) the official competition of the Berlin festival (God Exists, Her Name Is Petrunia, Teona Strugar Mitevska) and the Venice Mostra, where Dubravka Turić's Belladonna won the Orizzonti Award for Best Short Film. Spiritus movens documentaries are regularly screened at leading festivals in the region and sold to TV broadcasters.
After studying law and philosophy, Peter Jaeger started as Sales & Marketing Director of a film magazine. He moved on to become Marketing & Acquisitions Director for renowned theatrical distributors in the Benelux, releasing over a 100 films like Mulholland Drive, Festen, The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. In 2004 Peter moved to Vienna to start Autlook Filmsales, creating one of the world’s leading sales agents for creative docs. In 2015 he created a consulting company - Jaeger Creative - focusing on dramaturgy, innovative distribution, financing & marketing solutions for films & series. Peter is also a Lecturer at different film schools like Vienna Film Academy, a jury member of the Flemish & Vienna Film Fund and a Creative Europe expert.
