Ahsen Nadeem’s deeply personal documentary is the best film at the 19th ZagrebDox audience’s choice
After the official program of the 19th ZagrebDox ended last night, we also found out the winner of the HP Audience Award.
The award for the best film of the audience’s choice went to the film Crows Are White, a deeply personal documentary by director Ahsen Nadeem in which the author – a Muslim – searches for a new spirituality in an isolated and austere Japanese Buddhist monastery, but the only monk who will help him prefers ice cream and heavy metal to meditation.
The audience’s favourite film at this year’s ZagrebDox will be available for viewing at three reruns on Sunday, October 2, as part of The Best of Fest event, which once again brings this year’s festival winners to the audience. Find the schedule here.
