The fresh clean water that we guzzle and take for granted will not last forever; the proof is clear in the Hoover Dam reservoir, which is being drained dry by the desert city of Las Vegas. Water supplies are both shrinking and being polluted faster than most of us realize. With the help of environmental experts and scientists, lawyer Erin Brockovich joins Yu in illuminating the crucial role water plays in our lives and exposes the defects in our current water treatment system – one frog expert and biologist reveals the shocking results of discovered pesticides in the water which were turning his male study subjects into hermaphrodites. Archive material, new footage and personal stories from farmers and grassroots water activists bolster Last Call at the Oasis and its urgent message of how the water shortage issue will be the central issue the world faces this century.
