Check out the surprises ZagrebDox has prepared for the lovers of high resolutions, third dimension and visual explosions on the silver screen.

This year ZagrebDox has prepared several surprises for the lovers of high resolution, third dimension and visual explosions on the silver screen: the first ever 4K resolution screening of a documentary film in Croatia and two films in three dimensions for lovers of dance music and architecture. For the lovers of documentary-experimental form, in the Masters of Dox section check out Visitors, the latest film by experimental filmmaker Godfrey Reggio, made after a break of 11 years. With the imaginative use of high 4K resolution possibilities (4000 pixels), Reggio invites viewers on an in-depth exploration of their relationship with technology. On this film, too – with a subtitle The Movie That Stares Back at You – Reggio collaborated with one of the greatest living composers, Philip Glass. The ZagrebDox screening of Visitors at Cineplexx Kaptol Centre will be the first ever 4K screening of a documentary film in Croatia.

The Musical Globe section takes the viewers to one of the largest parties known in the universe, in three dimensions in the film Under the Electric Sky, directed by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz. Electric Daisy Carnival dance music festival was launched in 1997, and it is known for its carnival parades, excessive use of pyrotechnics and interactive art installations. The directors follow the three days of the festival, which took place in Las Vegas in 2013, with about 350 thousand party people and performances by Avicii, Armin van Buren and DJ Tiësto.

The Masters of Dox section also includes a 3D visual spectacle and a tribute to the art of architecture, Cathedrals of Culture, in which we take a peek into six iconic buildings (from Salk Institute in California, to Centre Pompidou in Paris) in the company of famous filmmakers: Wim Wenders, Michael Glawogger, Michael Madsen, Robert Redford, Margreth Olin and Karim Aïnouz.
