Tuesday at ZagrebDox features a total of 40 titles in International and Regional Competition, as well as a series of official programmes.

Tuesday at ZagrebDox features a total of 40 titles in International and Regional Competition, as well as a series of official programmes: Teen Dox, Controversial Dox, Masters of Dox, Biography Dox, Musical Globe, State of Affairs, Happy Dox and ADU Dox. Also, five Croatian premieres are scheduled – the world premieres of four Regional Competition entries: Simpl by Silvestar Kolbas, Unsuccessful Totally by Ljiljana Šišmanović, Major by Kristijan Milić and Marathon Men by Biljana Čakić; the last in the series of premieres in Kika by Mirna Zgrabljić, in the ADU Dox section. The Iranian director Mehrdad Oskouei is coming to Zagreb to present his documentary Starless Dreams in Teen Dox, Danish author Andreas Dalsgaard with The War Show in International Competition, Romanian director Monica Lazurean-Gorgan with A Mere Breath in Regional Competition, and Christian Krönes, one of the directors of A German Life.

On Tuesday, ZagrebDox begins with screenings at noon. Shows at 12am, 1pm and 2pm at theatres 2, 3, 4 and 5 are free.

At 4pm, theatre 1 screens The Land of the Enlightened by Belgian director Pieter Jan De Pue in International Competition, a perfect combination of live action and documentary form, taking the audience on an extraordinary cinematic journey through the beauties of war torn Afghanistan.

The same 4pm slot also screens a Retrospective of Nikolaus Geyrhalter, a selection of four documentaries from the rich work of one of the most significant Austrian directors. The film 7915 KM is scheduled for Tuesday – in which the author uses the Dakar rally as a reason to explore one part of Africa.

At 5pm, theatre 2 is hosting the first Dox event, the premiere of Kika, directed by Mirna Zgrabljić, in ADU Dox. The film focuses on Kika, a girl making money by striptease. After the screening, accompanied by a Q&A session with the author, another ADU Dox entry will follow, Confusions by Lana Kosovac, also with a Q&A afterwards.

Two Teen Dox documentaries will be screened at 6pm, theatre 1. The first is the short film Naomi's Secret by Saskia Gubbels, followed by Starless Dreams by Mehrdad Oskouei, a view on the daily lives of inmates at an Iranian correctional facility for women. Mehrdad Oskouei will take part in a Q&A session after the screening and on Wednesday at 11am this acclaimed Iranian director, producer and photographer will reveal the making-of secrets at a masterclass.

At 8pm, International Competition at theatre 1 features a documentary The War Show, a personal road movie portraying the destiny of Syria through an intimate perspective of a small group of friends. A Q&A will follow after the screening with Andreas Dalsgaard. At theatre 2, International Competition continues with two Polish titles – the short film Close Ties by Zofia Kowalewska, about a couple sharing the thick and the thin for 45 years and the husband's mischief that nearly broke them; and 21 x New York, a portrait of the American megacity and its citizens, directed by Piotr Stasik.

The biodoc A German Life, a documentary portrait of the closest collaborator, secretary and typist of the notorious Joseph Goebbels, Brunhilde Pomsel, is scheduled for 9pm at theatre 3, followed by a Q&A session with one of the directors, Christian Krönes.
