Boris Poljak

Director and Cinematographer

Boris Poljak, born in 1959 in Split, has worked as a professional cinematographer and director of photography since 1991. He has been awarded at various domestic and international festivals for his work (over fifty short documentary and experimental films, three feature films and over two hundred commercials). He has directed five short films, three of which as co-author with Damir Čučić. His film Autofocus (2013) received numerous awards at various international festivals, including the Grand Prix at the festival in Karlovy Vary. It was screened at the 2016 ZagrebDox, while his latest documentary They Just Come and Go (2016) screened in last year’s ZagrebDox Regional Competition. He was one of the organizers of the Parliament of Alternative Film in Split from 1982 to 1988 and one of the initiators of the International Festival of New Film in Split.

Anna Zamecka

Director

Anna Zamecka is a film director who lives and works in Warsaw, Poland. She studied Journalism, Anthropology and Photography in Warsaw and Copenhagen. She completed the Dok Pro Documentary Programme at Wajda School. Her feature documentary debut Communion (2016) was the opening film of last year’s ZagrebDox, where it screened in International Competition. The film subsequently had a very successful festival run, winning numerous awards, including the European Film Award for Best Documentary.

Harry Vaughn

Programmer for the Sundance Film Festival 

Harry Vaughn is a programmer for the Sundance Film Festival specializing in US and World documentary features. He is one of the selectors of competition documentary titles for the festival and also assists in selection of documentaries for the Premieres section. He also works on the selection committee of Sundance Catalyst, a program that connects promising narrative and documentary projects with film investors and funders. Past projects have included Won’t You be My Neighbor, Strong Island, The Force and Night Comes On. Aside from his work at Sundance, Harry has programmed and consulted for Frameline International LGBTQ Film Festival and Outfest Los Angeles. He holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Southern California and is a native of Los Angeles.
