Dean Šoša

Dean Šoša is a journalist and editor born in 1975 in Zagreb where he still lives and works. He graduated in Comparative Literature and History from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. He is the film programming director at the Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT). Previously, he was the Acting Head of Programming of Croatian Television in 2012. He was also the initiator and the first Head of Programming of the channel HTV3 (2012-2016). He was the commissioning editor on many new TV singles and short format programmes produced in-house and externally (Emisija, Treća povijest, Treći element, Prekid programa zbog čitanja, Klasici narodu, Kvizna situacija, Strip u Hrvatskoj, Pamet u glavu-animirani portreti filozofa, Symposium etc.). He is a co-author and long-standing editor of the TV program dedicated to film, Posebni dodaci. He wrote and co-wrote the scripts for about ten documentary films directed by Tomislav Mršić (Pula Confidential, Tokyo Light, Asobi, Vojtjeh In Search Of Truth, Apsurdistan – Moja općina, Apsurdistan – Most u grlu etc.). He worked as a film critic for magazines and weeklies such as Hollywood, Nacional, Globus and was a consultant for Croatian Film Days and the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (feature film production), as well as a jury member at numerous film festivals.

Valentina Primavera

Valentina Primavera graduated from the School of Arts in Rome. Since 2010, she has lived in Berlin, where she has worked as stage designer assistant at the Volksbühne, in the Berliner Ensemble, in the Neumarkt Theater, at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, among others. In 2013, she was assistant director for the feature documentary Antonello Neri In-Provideo, directed by Federico Neri. In 2014, she completed her M.A. in Stage Design and Scenography from TU Berlin with the space installation Heile West. Since then she has worked as stage and costumes designer in the Vierte Welt, Uferstudios Berlin, Hebbel am Ufer, working for and with Christoph Winkler, for Deufert & Plischke, among others. She also worked as set designer for several shorts, among others Taschengeld, directed by Annika Pinske, which was screened at several national and international film festivals, such as Cannes Next Generation Short Tiger. Una Primaverais her debut work as a director. The documentary celebrated its premiere at the DokLeipzig 2018 and was shown and awarded worldwide.

Nicoletta Romeo

Nicoletta Romeo graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Udine and she earned a Master’s degree in cinema and multimedia translation at the University of Bologna. For a while she devoted herself to subtitles for cinema. From 1999 to 2006, she worked as Head of Programming and Catalogue Chief Editor for the Venice International Critics Week, an autonomous section of the Venice Film Festival. From 2000 to 2007, she worked as a programme advisor for the Thessaloniki Film Festival and 4 Ecrans, Paris. Since 1996, she has been collaborating with the Trieste Film Festival as head of programming, and in 2016, she became artistic co-director, together with Fabrizio Grosoli. In 2012, together with two other partners, she funded the production company Mansarda Production Srl. In 2012, she co-produced the film I Kori (The Daughter) by Thanos Anastopoulos (international premiere: Berlinale); in 2016, she produced the documentary L’ultima spiaggia (The Last Resort) by Thanos Anastopoulos and Davide Del Degan, an Italian-Greek-French co-production which premiered in the Official Selection-Special Screenings of the 69th Cannes Film Festival in May 2016.
